Welcome to grocery boot camp. I'm so excited that you're going on this adventure with us. If you've done your pre-work, you have two weeks of receipts and an inventory.
Now that you know what you have in
your pantry, it's time to get it organized. You need to sort your pantry
items into categories so you can easily see what you need to replace.
Here are the categories I use (feel free to add/delete to meet your
needs.):
staples (flour, sugar, ect.),
pasta
rice
beans (dry and canned),
pasta sauce
tomato sauce/tomato paste
canned fruit
canned veggies
soup
broth
cereal
oil
salad dressing
condiments
convenience meals (hamburger helper, etc.)
seasonings
syrup/honey/jelly/jam
drink mixes, tea, coffee
milk (we are a non-dairy house so we only use rice milk and soy milk, so it's kept in the pantry until we are ready to use it).
Once
your pantry is organized, you can organize your inventory in the same
order so that it's easy to check and see what you need to buy.
